Calling all birth workers! Birth it Forward has memberships! You can join our community by becoming a volunteer birth or postpartum doula or by purchasing a membership. Not sure if joining our community is right for you? We have a fully online, commitment-free doula orientation that will give you in-depth knowledge of how we work and help you decide if our mission is right for you.

Sign on as a volunteer with Birth it Forward for a one time sign-on fee of $55 to cover your background check and a BIF t-shirt. Sign on as a Subscribing member for $30/mo or $300 annually with a $55 sign-on fee. Fill out our Membership Intake Form to get started!

How to Become a Birth it Forward Doula

1. Fill out our intake form or express interest to a Director via another communication platform such as Facebook messenger or email.
2. Submit proof of doula training.
3. Complete online orientation.
4. Attend in-person orientation
5. Sign contract and join Google Chats
6. Pay $105 onboarding fee.
7. Submit Background Check

Our Birth Doula Requirements

1. Proof of birth doula training completion (NOT certification, training)
2. Graduate from Birth it Forward Academy or complete the following:
   • Attendance at Standing Strong within the first year of Birth it Forward membership
   • Achieve a passing score on entrance exam.
   • Must attend and receive a qualifying birth with an Advanced or Instructor Doula
   • Attendance at MOCSA training before caring for domestic violence clients

Attend our semi-annual Birth it Forward Conference and complete both your Standing Strong and MOCSA training as well as network with your fellow doulas. Birth it Forward Conference tickets are free for active members and available for purchase by any doula in the community.

Our Postpartum Doula Requirements

1. Completion of Online Orientation
2. Completion of In-Person Orientation with demonstration of Competency
