Mother’s Closet

A fun and rewarding project that is particularly close to our hearts is Mother’s Closet. This unique volunteer opportunity happens monthly at various parks, libraries, and other local spaces in Kansas City and surrounding areas.

If you are looking for a fun, family-friendly, and vibrant place to volunteer once a month, Mother’s Closet is it!

Volunteering at Mother’s Closet is something many of us look forward to each month. We spend time sorting clothes, talking to other volunteers, and be-friending new moms! If this sounds like something you (or you and a few of your friends!) would like to do, reach out! We would love to have you join us one weekend!

What is Mother’s Closet?

Birth it Forward’s mission with Mother’s Closet is to distribute gently used women’s and children’s items at no cost to families in need. Because the program operates on donations and at such a low cost, families do not need to qualify before accessing the items they need. This eliminates barriers for many, allowing quality items to move into the homes of the families who need them.
