Birth it Forward and the Pregnancy and Postpartum Resource Center

Hey followers, we have some really exciting news! Birth It Forward is proud to welcome our sisters in pregnancy and postpartum support, The Pregnancy & Postpartum Resource Center, to our team!

Join us in welcoming the volunteers and members of the PPRC into our organization, as many join us as volunteers and board members!

The Pregnancy & Postpartum Resource Center has been working in the Kansas City Metro since 2003. Their work to improve the emotional well-being of families before and after the birth of a child has been instrumental in providing timely resources to new families. They have provided a warmline, support groups, and trainings throughout Kansas City, with talented and dedicated volunteers leading the way. The legacy of the PPRC is one of continued compassionate care.

As we make this transition, we will add new programs to our current Birth it Forward line-up! As always, our primary focus will be our birth and postpartum doula support program. Additionally, we will continue to expand Mother’s Closet, build our lactation program, and enhance our doula training options. In the coming months, we will begin offering Support Group Leader Training, a support and advocacy warm line, and support groups. These added programs will allow us to serve additional families and build a better and well-rounded training for the doulas working with us.

This addition brings Doula Sally Riley, former president of the PPRC, Melissa Jackson IBCLC, and Lee Allison Voi CNM to our Board of Directors. We are happy to have them on the team and looking forward to their incredible input and direction.

We are so excited to see how these new programs can add even more support to our clients and our community! If you are interested in volunteering for the warm line or helping to host a support group AFTER receiving the appropriate training, please contact kristen@kcwomensministry.org

So many beautiful things are happening at Birth It Forward! We hope you will stay tuned to find out more!
